History
The famous "bruised banana" design was worn from 1991 to 1993. This shirt became one of Adidas' most iconic designs. George Graham's team failed to win a trophy in their first season, falling from the FA Cup and League Cup in the third round and finishing fourth in the league. The second season brought more success as the Gunners won both domestic cups; however, they dropped to 10th place in the inaugural Premier League season. The design was also memorably worn when Ian Wright scored a hat-trick on his league debut for Southampton. This was the last Adidas shirt to feature the trefoil logo in English football.
