History
In 1996/97, Real Sociedad had an excellent season, finishing third in La Liga, behind Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. This remarkable performance earned them a place in the UEFA Cup. The team distinguished itself with a solid attacking style, led by players like Kovacevic and De Pedro. The following season was less impressive, with Real Sociedad finishing tenth in the league. Despite some good performances, the team was unable to repeat the success of the previous season. They were also eliminated early from European competition.
