History
At the 2006 World Cup in Germany, Serbia and Montenegro had a difficult run. Placed in Group C with Argentina, the Netherlands, and Ivory Coast, they lost all three of their matches, conceding 10 goals while scoring only 2. The low point of this disappointment was a heavy 6-0 defeat against Argentina. This tournament was also the last played under that name, following the separation of the two countries shortly before the competition.
