History
The Black Stars' away jersey commemorates their impressive run at the 2010 World Cup, culminating in a memorable quarter-final match against Uruguay. The game was tight and went to extra time, where the South Americans struggled physically against the more incisive African side. In the final minute, Luis Suárez made a desperate goal-line clearance, handling the ball. This deliberate action, deemed scandalous by some and a "sacrifice" by others, led to his logical dismissal, and Ghana were awarded a penalty. Gyan missed the chance to send Ghana through to the semi-finals, hitting the crossbar, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Uruguay ultimately prevailed in the penalty shootout.
