History
In 2010, Ukraine did not qualify for the World Cup in South Africa, having been eliminated in the playoffs by Greece (0-0 in the first leg, 0-1 in the second). The team, led by Andriy Shevchenko, went through a period of transition, awaiting the opportunity to co-host Euro 2012 with Poland. That year, the national team mainly played friendly matches to prepare for the upcoming tournament.
