History
The 2012-2013 season for Málaga CF was historic: in their first-ever Champions League campaign, the Andalusian club reached the quarter-finals, only to be eliminated in a memorable match by Borussia Dortmund. Under the guidance of Manuel Pellegrini, Málaga finished 6th in La Liga and shone in Europe with notable victories against AC Milan and FC Porto. Isco, named Golden Boy in 2012, established himself as the team's technical leader. Despite these successes, financial problems led to UEFA sanctions and the departure of several key players during the off-season.
